Don Bosco, the 18th century Italian saint is the founder of the world-wide Don Bosco family that works solely for the well-being of the young people. His style, passion and approach, which is filled with creativity and relevance has won the hearts of all generations.
The words ‘Don Bosco’ and ‘Youth’, are almost synonymous, and Don Bosco is acclaimed as the Patron of Youth. Educating and Empowering the young people to be responsible citizens and good human beings has been his sole aim and the nucleus of his mission.
Don Bosco inspired the start of a vast movement of people who in different ways work for the benefit of the young in different parts of the world, and they comprise the Salesian family. Today the Salesian family has 32 officially recognized groups with a total of 402,500 members spread across the world.
Don Bosco is a global network with its operations in 136 countries, with nearly 30,000 institutions worldwide reaching out to the poor and marginalized youth and offering a variety of services for their welfare.
